Paris is in the midst of celebrating a century of Art Deco—a design movement that redefined modernity with symmetry, bold geometry, and glamour. Adding its voice to the citywide tributes, Louis Vuitton unveils Louis Vuitton Art Déco at LV Dream, its cultural space on the Seine.
The exhibition pays homage to the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, the event that coined the term Art Deco. Through more than 300 archival objects—ranging from rare trunks and travel accessories to decorative creations—the showcase explores how Louis Vuitton embraced the movement’s clean lines, refined ornamentation, and spirit of innovation.
This was an era when travel itself was an art form, and Vuitton’s pieces embodied both practicality and sophistication. Exotic veneers, polished metals, and bold detailing reveal how the Maison’s savoir-faire evolved in dialogue with modernist ideals, producing designs that were both functional and timelessly elegant.
But Louis Vuitton Art Déco is not a conventional retrospective. At LV Dream, the presentation unfolds as an immersive journey into the atmosphere of the 1920s. Thoughtful scenography, lighting, and spatial design evoke the optimism of the period, transforming the exhibition into a sensorial experience
Admission is complimentary by reservation, making the exhibition an invitation for visitors to explore Vuitton’s heritage beyond fashion. The experience extends further into Le Café Maxime Frédéric, where seasonal dishes, pastries, and handcrafted chocolates add another layer of indulgence. A boutique completes the journey, offering collectable objects, art books, and leather goods.
The exhibition aligns with a broader moment in Paris, where institutions such as the Musée des Arts Décoratifs are also staging Art Deco retrospectives. Together, these tributes frame the style not as a relic of the past but as an enduring influence on contemporary culture and design.
For Louis Vuitton, the centenary is more than commemoration—it is a dialogue across time. Louis Vuitton Art Déco underscores how innovation, beauty, and craftsmanship transcend eras. A hundred years on, Art Deco continues to inspire, reminding us that elegance may evolve, but it never fades.
